Surface Optics Corporation (SOC), the world leader in optical properties measurements and testing, now offers the SOC-SRM-01 high reflectance Specular Reflectance Standard.  SOC-SRM-01 is a mirrored, vacuum deposited aluminum coating on an annealed Pyrex ® 7740 substrate.  Unlike the high reflectance, diffuse Spectralon ® standards, the SOC-SRM-01 is ideal as a reference when measuring high reflectance, specular surfaces such as mirrors, optical substrates and coatings.  In addition to having UV/VIS reflectance (85-90% across the 250-800 nm range) the aluminum coating offers additional protection against abrasion and scratching which occur during use as well as stability over time from oxidization.
