Key Features
- Custom spectral bands: Achieve enhanced spectral resolution on regions of interest to your application.
- Measurement head modifications: Aperture reduction for measurements on smaller sample sizes, compatibility with automated measurements, alternative incidence angles, and sample port modifications.
- Verification coupons: Custom test coupons made for your specific applications to verify consistent performance.
- New software interfaces: Software development services for your particular requirements.
Custom Spectral Bands
SOC410 Series Reflectometers use a broadband light source with spectral band distribution achieved by a set of optical filters in front of photodetectors.
Modifying these filters and detectors allows us to design a measurement head with custom spectral bands to enhance spectral resolution for application-specific regions of interest.
Measurement Head Modifications
APERTURE ADJUSTMENTThe standard source aperture is 12 mm but can be modified for use on smaller samples or target areas. The minimum source aperture size is 2mm. Decreasing the size of the source aperture results in a smaller beam spot size (the sample port diameter remains the same). It is important to note that reducing the aperture size will decrease signal-to-noise performance or increase measurement time. Our team would be happy to model potential SNR changes for your materials.
AUTOMATED / REMOTE MEASUREMENTS
410 Series reflectometers can be converted to a rigid optic coupling with an extended focal point for non-contact measurements and mounting assistance for RCU units to be incorporated into a larger robotic system.
INCIDENCE ANGLES
Standard 410 Series reflectometers perform measurements at near-normal 20 degrees and 60 degrees but can be modified to grazing angle.
SAMPLE PORT CHANGES
The standard polyurethane port o-ring, which protects samples during measurements, can be removed or replaced with a different material to meet specific application requirements.
Verification Coupons of Target Materials
We can also provide customized verification coupons to offer extra assurance for quality control and to establish a known standard with optical properties similar to a target sample. These tailored coupons enhance the reliability of reflectance measurements by ensuring that the handheld reflectometers are calibrated correctly and consistently accurate.
Software Interface
410 Series reflectometers have robust operating software designed to meet the needs of most users for general operation and data review. However, certain projects require more specialized capabilities. To address specific operational environments, we offer custom software development services, adding unique features and functionalities tailored to your particular requirements, such as:
- Engineering/technician mode for improved data security protocols
- Remote listening mode for measurement automation
- Solar transmittance measurement mode
