Photonics West 2013

The Surface Optics engineering team has returned after a busy week showcasing SOC’s handheld reflectometers, spectral imagers, and cutting edge thin-film coating technology at the Photonics West 2013 Exhibition in San Francisco, California. Photonics West is hosted by the Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE) and is the world’s leading biomedical optics, optoelectronics, microfabrication, laser manufacturing, and photonics exhibition.

Many conference attendees stopped by the SOC exhibit booth and discussed with the coatings team their recent in-house development of a unique roll-to-roll coating process for Electron Beam, Jori Source and Ion Assisted Deposition (IAD) of metallic and dielectric films. Other booth visitors were able to see demonstrations of the SOC710 being used for counterfeit detection and microscopy.
