The SOC 410-Solar reflectometer is designed to deliver laboratory-grade accuracy in a highly portable form factor. Compact and battery-powered, it enables reliable solar reflectance and absorption measurements directly in the field, whether on installed solar panels, building materials, spaceflight hardware, or aircraft surfaces.
Built around a modified integrating sphere, the instrument captures total reflectance across seven spectral sub-bands spanning 300–2500 nm. Fully compliant with ASTM E903—the recognized U.S. industry standard for measuring solar absorption, reflectance, and transmittance—the 410-Solar ensures precise and consistent results even outside controlled laboratory environments.
SphereOptics GmbH, an accredited calibration laboratory (ISO 17025) and Surface Optics’ distribution partner in Germany, conducted a series of test measurements using the SOC 410-Solar reflectometer to verify the instrument’s accuracy. For this evaluation, they compared the SOC 410-Solar with the Perkin Elmer Lambda-950, which is routinely used in their laboratory for calibration of reflectance, transmission, and wavelength accuracy in accordance with the long-established DIN 5036 standard procedure. The results of those measurements form the basis of this report.
